Brief Introduction

Hangzhou Bay New Zone is situated in the north of Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, facing Hangzhou Bay to its north. It’s the center of the economic golden triangle formed by the three large cities of Shanghai, Hangzhou and Ningbo in the south of the Yangtze River Delta. In HBNZ there is a state-level export processing zone and a provincial-level economic development zone. The southern approach bridge of Hangzhou Bay Bridge-the longest cross-sea bridge in the world-traverses the zone, providing obvious location and transportation advantages.

Hangzhou Bay New Zone, the northern portal of Ningbo, will be a modern eco-city in the region around Hangzhou Bay, home to more than 500,000 people.
As an important port city in the Yangtze River Delta, Ningbo boasts the best investment environment in China. It was listed by the United Nations as one of cities with greatest development potentials in mainland China. For 6 consecutive years, Ningbo is ranked Top 15 among 200 candidate cities in China including Hong Kong and Macao in terms of urban comprehensive competitiveness according to Blue Paper of Urban Competitiveness 2007 released by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

　　Hangzhou Bay New Zone is situated in north Ningbo, with an area of 145km2. The construction of this zone started in December 2001, and it meets the standard of “nine provided and one leveled”, namely, road, electricity, industrial & residential water, water treatment, sewage treatment, telecommunications, heat supply, gas and ground-leveling. The zone is International Environment System ISO14001 certified.
　　With the strategy of sustainable development and the aim of introducing technology & capital intensive and high value-added service projects, the zone has attracted more than 200 projects. Its industrial output value exceeded RMB17 billion in 2006.
